This is a genetic test for Progressive Retinal Attrophy. The ratings are Normal (not a carrier), Carrier, or Affected. If both parents are Normal, no test is required, the pups will be Normal. If one parent is Normal and the other is a Carrier, the pups may or may not be carriers and only need to be tested if they are to be bred.
This is an alternative or supplement to the OFFA Hip exam. Ratings are based on percentiles, lower is better. This article compares the two tests.
